Simone's Biography
Simone Windeler immigrated to the United States in 1995 with her husband, Jack, a retired Colonel in the U.S.
Army and their daughter Susanne, currently a student at the University of Colorado in Boulder. She has been riding
for more than 30 years. Since 1996, she has been active in the Colorado horse community, serving on the board of
the former Penrose Equestrian Center (now the Norris-Penrose Events Center) in Colorado Springs. Simone serves as
president of the Colorado Springs Dressage Association, a position she has held for several years, and prior to
that was a board member in various capacities.
In 2005, she completed the United States Dressage Federation "L" program for judging held by the Rocky Mountain
Dressage Society and has judged numerous local shows and schooling shows. In 2005, she attended her first clinic
with Ralk Schmitzer and since then has changed her focus to the classical principles of dressage. Working closely
with Ralf, she has earned his designation as an associate instructor providing continuing education between clinics.
She also works with Frances Carbonnel and has gained valuable insights while riding Carbonnel's Andalusian stallions.
